Zebras

Well, went for Wild Zebras yesterday. It was good.
YUP!~

My favourite dancer is Princess Zebra. She's goood. I especially loved it when she danced with Wild Zebra. Wow. You cannot imagine what 'stunts' they do together. Whoa. I was in awe.
There were many love scenes and I loved everyone of them, but well, got a little, just a little, fed up after that.

I also like the other girl zebras, the one with the little skirts. They were good. So elegant, so gentle, so peaceful... Wow. (oh, Princess Zebra was very elegant too!) Other than that, there were the geese - very cute. So synchronised... Okay, don't know how to describe it. They were just... well, CUTE! haha... Oh, the I loved the leopard couple too, who did some 'stunts' of their own. SO GOOOOOD.
*when i say 'stunts', i mean the guy carries the girl and you know, stuff like that. VERY COOL.

The antelopes were good. They had bells on their costumes and they 'jingled'! haha...They were all guys. Imagine a bunch of guys jingling with bells! HAHA... they were good though.
The monkeys were EVER SO FUNNY! They jumped around in this funny way and when they first entered, they were holding on to each other's tails...!! CUTE!
Love the geese. Very GOOD. They had FUNNY butts though.. by this i mean, HUGE butts(it's the costume) haha..

Well, Fox Spirit WAS good, VERY good, but i didn't really like her coz,
1. She was EVIL...
2. The way she moved was... weird and you know, kinda cunning. (No, I'm not a cunning person, I think, so like i didn't like it that much...)
3. Just WEIRD! haha...

There was this one part which was really really ugh.. At the ending, Princess Zebra was dying and Wild Zebra cried. The way he cried was... SO SO SOOOO WEIRD!! He was shaking, which really really didn't look all that good...to me, and well, i was practically screaming(in my head) "STOP SHAKING!!!" weird weird weird weird eww....

Well, all in alll, Wild Zebra was great. No regrets! :)

WILD ZEBRA!!

YAY! I'm going to watch WILD ZEBRA tomorrow!! It's starts showing today. What is it?!?!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON"T KNOW!?!?

WILD ZEBRA!

Wild Zebra, an original work of dance and music from Shanghai, is about the forbidden love between two zebras, set in an imaginary animal world.

Well, okay, here is an excerpt of an article on it on the newspaper...

"A rumbling tarin disrupted the countryside silence. It was one of the hottest days that summer in China. With the heat bearing down and the northward-bound train chugging languidly along, passengers were lulled into an easy slumber, each drifting into their own fantasy world.

For one the the travellers, his dream led him to a mythical forest where he envisioned two dancing spirits, which later turned out to be wild zebras.

Oblivious to the stranger in their midst, the courting zebras continued with their teasing nudges, playing out, as their ancestors had done before them, the ritual courtship dance.

Gently jostled out of his reverie, Zhang Jigang realised that he had found what he was looking for. The year was 1997."

"With his vision in place, the challenge for Zhang was in the execution. He had the support of Shanghai Oriental Television Station, that invested over three million yuan in the project, and a team of the best talents in the Chinese world of dance, music and theatre - music composer Zhang Qianyi, stage art designer Zhang Jiwen, lighting designer Sha Xiaolan, costume designer Song Li and dancers from the Shanghai Oriental City Dance Troupe.

For the next three years, close to 150 people (including dancers) worked on bringing Zhang's vision to life. There were hitches along the way but everyone persevered."

"Wild Zebra made its highly anticipated debut as the closing performance for the 2nd China Shanghai International Arts Festival on Dec 1, 2000. Three years of work came down to this defining moment. As the final curtain lowered, the audience's apploause was deafening."

Critics have called Wild Zebra one of China's most outstanding dance works in the recent years. It has also been hailed as China's answer to The Lion King (the broadway version) thanks to its fantastical stage design. Comparisons have even been made with Cirque du Soleil beacuse of its intricate costumes, incredible lighting and the merging of acrobatics, modern and classical ballet, and folk dance.
"The story might seem fantastical but I have no worries that it will be accepted and enjoyed by the young and old everywhere. That's the beauty of dance where its movements and expressions are universal. And i believe that the message of love, peace and harmony extolled in Wild Zebra is the perfect theme for human society in the 21st century."

WOOHOO!! I can't wait! It's showing from today till August 3rd at Istana Budaya...

YAY!! I missed Swan Lake but I'm not going to miss this! YAY YAY! :)

Oh, guess what? I'm going for Sleeping Beauty on ice and STOMP too! YAY YAY! Now just to be hardworking to repay my supportive parents...
Drats... That's kinda hard... I'm SO lazy.

100 more days till SPM! (screams)

HEYA!!

Hello! Sorry I've been idle for sooo long!

Many many many things have happened this week but I didn't write about any...

I was busy!

First, rat disection! Yea!! It was awesome! well, it would have been better if the rats weren't that small... They weren't even bigger than our palms. I got kinda angry at the person who bought them. I mean... How are we going to see anything at all with such small speciments?? What a waste of money! I was hoping teacher would let us disect rats another day(when we get bigger ones) but she didn't. she just told us to disect those little things.

Oh well... What can I say? Our rat was the most beautiful one! Yea! I loved the outcome. Everything, the organs, were packed ever so neatly in that little body. Wow. The kidneys looked like little red beans, the liver was RED, the stomach-a yellow little bag and the intestines well, you can guess how it looked like anyway. The rat's rib bones were pretty soft(myb because it really REALLY was small) and we cut through them easily. sadly, by the time we got to the heart, it had stopped beating. I heard that other groups got to see the heart beat. Dum Dum Dum... nice... Oh well, that's for trying to make our rat neat, beautiful and PERFECT. haha...
Then, we started to pick out the organs for display.
*plz note that till now, the rat has not bled yet.

Okay, SNIP! ouch... blood starts flowing after the intestines got cut off... oh well, so much for perfect... next we got the kidneys out and then the stomach, the liver, the pancreas, the heart, lungs(well one anyway)... TA-DAA!! Rat organs for display! :)
After that, they(my team mates) wanted to see the inside of the stomach. When i was trying cut a hole in it, we wondered if we would be squirted with some rat stomach juice.. Everyone backed away slightly. Well, turns out, no juice. just something that looked like mashed potatos. Thank goodness!! When we reaslised that, we cut the stomach in half(we were kinda running out of time) and WHOA! It(the mashed potatos thingie) was yellow and orange.. IT"S...IT"S... CARROT!! CARROT!!! (that what they(the rats) ate before they got disected) COOL!!!!!!!!

Then, WE, worked on the head. Snip snip snip tak. Snip snip snip tak. Wow, the skull IS hard. Couldn't penetrate through it. Now's the time i thank flo. THANK YOU FLORENCE! why? well, she kinda in a way taught us how to crack that skull open.(she wrote it in her blog) CHA! there goes the flying scissors---AND the skull. Ooo... more blood. Couldn't really see the brain. Sad. Li Li wanted to take the brain out for display too and almost cut the poor thing's head off!!! Yea, i know! I went:
"Li Li, you stop right there! I won't allow such disrespect to the dead!!"
The poor little thing! One of them(my other team mates) wanted to snip the tail off!! We screamed: "No!" What more damage DO you want to do on the rat?!?!

Soon, it was time to go back to class... We bent our heads down and gave the brave young(probably) soul a minute of silence, thanking it for letting us explore it's innards and yea, pretty much everything. we stuffed everything back in the rat's body and I dumped it in a plastic bag along with it's other friends...

Rest in peace...
or did i say pieces?

Maybe both...

(Will try to get a picture for you...soon. Patience is a virtue. RIGHT?)
OH, Something funny, the guys were afraid and going like "yerr..." and the girls were the ones who were excited about cutting the rats up. FUNNY... isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Second! Well, I went to a JAPANESE SCHOOL!!! It was SOOOO clean! It would appear that Japanese people have this culture of keeping their rubbish and throwing it at home... There really were no rubbish bins around! NONE!!
There, we learnt some Japanese dances for the upcoming Bon odori festival. We were seperated into a few groups and 3 Japanese girls taught us the dance. They were pretty funny and cute coz they couldn't really communicate in English. We made friends with them. I got their names too! --- Yuma, Lisa and Minobu. NICE GIRLS.
!!!!
CUTE JAPANESE GUY! Well, 2 guys anyway. :p !!!
Oh, and we saw some really really cute Japanese kindergarten kids. KAWAII~

Then on Saturday, we went for the Bon odori festival. Got a new shirt, got to see the cute guys again and I GOT TO DANCE ON STAGE!! ahem! For one session that is...there're three sessions.(the cute guys were on stage too! They play the drums) YAY! The Japanese girls wore kimono and danced on stage too.Got to snap a few pictures with them! :) Too bad I didn't have a camera. Pity...

p.s. i finished watching FMA! Don't like the ending though..

Sports day

Sports day = 9th of July - last Saturday.

I have but one thing to say about that day...

I ran funny in front of the WHOLE school!!! *yikes!*

Well, at least some ppl weren't paying attention..

Younger sis said this happened:
Unknown voice: "Ke garisan... Sedia..."
My evil sis: "Look! My sister's sticking out her butt!!"
*laughter*

"..."

Evil........ Evil lurks in all places. You never know when it'll decide to hit you...

Anyway, everyone said I ran funny. Said I looked like those chibi japanese anime characters when they run... I'll post a pic if i find one. (hopefully!)
Well, result of running in front of the whole school funny? Nothing... We would have gotten 3rd, but we got disqualified. They, yes they, said someone stepped on the line. No, we don't know who and we don't know where it happened.

Oh well, at least I experienced running in front of the whole school! That's pretty cool. haha... Though I still can't accept the fact that people saw me running FUNNY!... Thank goodness we don't record anything... imagine the embarrassment!!

Bonodori - This Saturday (16/7). Yup. I'm so there! Oh, it's the japanese ghost festival. Oooo...

I ran funny in front of the whole school and got nothing for it.

p.s. Yingxu got 2nd thanks to us yellow team and red (who would have gotten 1st) being disqualified.I feel kinda sad really, but there's nothing I can do so...so be it.

Remember...
Life's Unfair!

One more day!

Yup.. just one minute till it's Sports day! (I better hop in bed soon...)

Tomorrow I'll be out there, sprinting along side some really really fast runners and probably lose unless i'm up against Yx.. HAHA!! (hope she doesn't see this..)
Anyway, I'm going to run sooooooooooon but I still have NO IDEA which runner I am.. Pretty pathetic huh. I barely know how to pass the baton.
OH!! Darell's running tomorrow too!! COOL! 4X100 as well! WOO HOO!! This is going to be so much fun! I hope I don't lose..

Today, I ran with Yx and her blue house team mates and I was second! WOO HOO!! Tried to run faster so I could beat the first girl but well, obviously I didn't make it. Well, I suppose second isn't that bad.
Then, I ran with Yu Yan (my team-she only knew she's running today..) and she was only one step behind me. Scary! I hope that doesn't happen tomorrow! (I mean with my opponents) Would be ....*pressure* SCARY!
After that, we ran with her form 4 friend who's taking part in FIVE events tomorrow.(I didn't even know there's going to be so many events!)

"Ke garisan......Sedia......LARI!"

And I ran. And YY ran.. We ran. And ran. And ran. But the form 4 girl didn't.
When we were about half way across (more or less), she started running and we could hear her coming nearer and nearer, her footsteps getting louder and LOUDER!! She's COMING!!! Ah!!! Run for your lives!!! She was SO fast. THAT fast. Wow. I think she beat us at the end (when i decided there was no point in running anymore.. just 3 steps left? haha..) WOW! SOOOOO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. She's in purple house. Nooooo.....(I'm in yellow)

Well, that was really intimidating huh..
Don't worry fellow yellow house mates, I will try my best to run you know, faster. haha.. Don't think i can reach that form 4 girl's speed though. Thank goodness she's not running for P1..
Phew~

That's it then... Sleeping time! Need... energy... tomorrooo....ow....
Nighty everyone! WISH ME LUCK!!!!! :)
