Timeless in Her Majesty's Theatre
On Sunday, 20th of January, I went to perform in Timeless, a cultural show by the Indian society in LSE. Apparently, this year, they made it a much bigger show that incorporated all types of dances. I was in a lyrical piece with 5 other girls, Harmonie, Chrysa, Turan, Lydia and Chiara. :)
And the best part was, it was in a West End theatre!! Her Majesty's Theatre, where the Phantom of the Opera is shown, to be precise!! The number of audience that night was over a THOUSAND people! Oh gosh! HOW UNBELIEVABLE! How surreal!!
We arrived at the theatre at 9am in the morning(yawn!! I was soooo tired!) and got in at 9.30am. We were assigned into different dressing rooms and had a technical rehearsal. However, due to lack of time, some of us didn't get to do it. But all is good when it's LUNCH TIME!!! Went to Wagamama's for the first time for lunch, with Lydia, Harmonie and Chiara. The food was really good!!! Good suggestion, Lydia!
At 2pm, Chrysa was doing the final touches to my make-up. Haha~~ Oh, my make-up artist for the day! Loved what she did. Then we had a full dress rehearsal on the stage. Every performance was just STUNNING. I enjoyed myself very much watching all of them! Especially Bhangra, which was EXTREMELY COLOURFUL! and Bollywood, which was just SOOOO much fun!(Everyone wants to do it next year!) Hehe~~ I had the butterflies when it was close to our turn!
"It's not the actual show."
HAHA~! Note, that doesn't actually work when the butterflies are going crazy in your tummy. Eeeek!
We didn't feel too good about our performance right after as the stage floor was pretty rough and sticky so we couldn't really move smoothly. But apparently, Tammi said she felt like crying after she watched ours. Oh gosh!! Felt good to hear people loving our piece so much. :) THANKS TAMMI!! Hehe~~
In the end we bought tights for our feet(we were dancing bare footed originally) and that solved the problem! Felt sooo much better after that. After that it was dinner, then SHOW TIME!!!!!! Time moved so fast it was not long till it was our turn! Well, maybe it just felt like it was fast because we were waiting for our turn, in the rehearsal room, which was disconnected from the rest of the world.
3 minutes. I danced in front of a live audience in Her Majesty's Theatre for 3 minutes and it was just.. perfect.
TIMELESS WAS AMAZING!!! Definitely one of those once in a lifetime memories~~ :)
From left, Turan, myself, Harmonie, Chrysa and Chiara. Lydia was not there at the moment and she was in her Fashion show(yes, there was one) costume.
