Haha!!
We reached the hotel, freshen up and left to see the world(no, just Australia) around 10 - 11. We walked and walked and walked and walked and oh my gosh, my legs hurt and walked and I'm thirsty and walked and can't we sit down somewhere? and walked and, yea, basically that's it. Haha... It's amazing how everyone IS actually walking everywhere. I mean, You hardly see anyone walking in KL. We went to the fish market(Loads of seafood) and the paddy market. We bought slurpeeeeeeee and realised that their medium was our large. Oh yea, and the food comes in such big servings! We almost always die trying to finish up what we ordered.
When we finally got home, it was already 5. If I'm not wrong. Can you imagine walking for 6 hours non stop? ('cept for lunch) PURE TORTURE! On the first day too! After a not so good sleep from the plane! I only slept about 3 hours!!! Really! (coz Sydney's 3 hours faster than Malaysia) *tired!*
Went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner and ugh... toooooo much lobster. We started off as ravenous as ever and ended up too full to finish. Haha.. but I think we managed in the end. Luckily~!
Day 2
Went to the Sydney aquarium, saw sharks and cute jellyfish and loads of fishes. Then, sat ferry to the otherside(wherever the OTHER side is, haha..) and walked to the Sydney opera house. It was a really really really REALLY hot day and the wind was HOT wind! Not like the day before. My sis and I reckon the artificial sky's aircon isn't working. Haha... Then after that, it was lunch and off we go for... THE BRIDGE CLIMB! My sisters and I went on a climb on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. My parents didn't coz they thought it would be too tiring for them but really it wasn't tiring at all! We had loads of stops on the bridge to enjoy the scenery and took a few pictures. It got really cold in the evening and I was freezing even with the jacket on. Brrrr...
Quite an interesting thing huh, Australian weather. It can be like cooking in an oven in the morning and the next thing you know you're in the north pole. Interesting indeed. Come to think of it, most days are like that. Just not as hot as this particular day.
Day 3 - CHRISTMAS!
We went to visit two of mum's friends. Aunty Lindell and Aunty Carol.
Aunty Lindell and her husband came to pick us up for lunch. Two cars. Not one. Apparently, the Australia government is very strict about safety on the road. ALL the pasangers have to be wearing a seatbelt or the driver will get double demerits (coz it's the holiday season. I have no idea how bad it'd be if it wasn't) and they also have to drive to the speed limit. I mean, REALLY to the speed limit. Quite good rules actually, don't you think?
Met Aunty Lindell's children, Hugh(11) and Rhiannon(13). Cute. Haha... Then wonderful lunch and for the first time ever, Bon bons! haha!! We kinda crack open these crackers and there's this little gift inside plus a party hat and a joke. Nice. One extra present! Haha.. It's interesting. I never knew about these!
Then we went for a walk in the park and soon enough it was time to go. It was already 7! Wow! That's late! But the sky was still bright though. I do hope they come to Malaysia to visit soon!
Then, we took a train to Aunty Carol's place. Once again, they came for us in 2 cars. Aunty Carol's house is HUGE!!!!! And they have little ducklings in the garage. Cuuuute~ Though I didn't really want to touch them. Quite afraid of things that bite. I mean, they were practically biting Jason's fingers off! (yes, I'm exaggerating by A LOT) So anyway, dinner was a lot! Once again, we see the Australian appetite in action. Haha.. When we were done, Aunty Carol was actually surprised! We must be really small eaters compared to them! (I wonder how yining'd fair, after what yx told me about that Pangkor trip. Hmm yining? I heard you didn't finish your meals eh? Imagine how much you'd suffer in Aus!! Haha!)
Aunty Carol has 3 children. 2 boys and a girl. We didn't see the girl though. She was overseas. Jason(21) plays the guitar! That was SO cool~ He has 4 guitars and he has all those pedals(what are they?) and I was just amazed by how different pedals had different effects and all. If only he wasn't so reluctant to play more. Later we went to check out what Justin(20) did. Ooooooo!!! He painted little figurines! They were very well done! We asked for one, but apparently they cost! Haha.. So we had to give up. (well no, we were just joking anyway when we asked. They seemed very precious to him)
We left their house close to midnight and I went to sleep feeling it was a great day.
Funny how everyone was so interested in the bridge climb!
Day 4
We packed up for our flight to Brisbane. Did more walking before we went to the airport.
In Brisbane, took a long time to find our apartment(oh yea, we rented a car! Thank goodness for that! Goooodbyeeee walking!) and it was SO hot because all the windows had been shut! It was a pretty stuffy apartment to tell the truth, but we managed. Somehow.
Hmm... and that's all for day 4!
Day 5
We went SHOPPING! Funny huh! Haha.. Of all the things to do. Heh heh...
We also went to Surfers Paradise that evening. Pretty beach. Had dinner there. It was very very crowded. Food was good though.
Day 6
SEAWORLD! It was a whole day thing. Saw dolphins(there was a show), a dugong, penguins, polar bears, sharks, seals(there was a show too!), and sat RIDES! ALL of them! (cept for kiddy ones) Haha!! Strangely enough, the pirate ship turned out to be scarier than the cockscrew. Mum sat on the pirate ship and she was thoroughly shaken by it all. Poor thing.
Day 7
MOVIE WORLD! I particularly enjoyed this day! SO many rides! I'll show you the pictures later. We(my younger sis and I) sat on ALL of them! 'cept for the slightly kiddy ones. Again. The one I liked best would have to be the scooby doo one. It went backwards at one point! And so did the wild wild west one. (we came splashing out and go wet from head to toe! I didn't expect the water to splash ever so hard on my face so I was pretty shocked when it hurt. :p)
The Superman ESCAPE was GREAT. It was written 0.100km/hour in 2 seconds! But I still don't get it. (anyone?) Anyway, we started off quite peacefully, moving inside the building and then we reach the opening and you say to yourself this-is-it-oh-my-gosh-we're-going-to-die and you stop. Completely. The anticipation almost kills you. You hear 'superman' tell you all that there's no way but to push you out. WHAT? you scream at your sister. What in the world?!?!? Then you sit there waiting and waiting and it happens. You accelerate SO fast you feel yourself pushed against the sit behind you. You scream your head off(not because you're afraid but because that's just what you do!) Then zoom zoom ZOOM and it's over. Wow. That was GREAT. I especially love it when we fall. Haha! Never did I close my eyes once. I am proud! Good girl ee!
The ride I'm glad I sat on was Lethal Weapon. May didn't wanna sit at first and I got discouraged coz I wanted someone to go with me. Couldn't ask my parents(duh~) and my elder sis is terribly afraid of rides like this. Then when I decide that I rather ride it alone than not at all, May said she'd go with me! Oh joy!! It was incredible. We actually sit on chairs and our feet are dangling.
I don't know why, but everytime I get myself strapped down I say to myself "oh my gosh I can't believe I'm actually doing this" and "oh well, there's no way out now..." then wait. I also scream and scream and scream(during the ride of course!) until I find it so funny I laugh then realise it's stupid to laugh so I scream again.
"Why are you laughing?!? Scream! Scream!!" " AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
Basically, that's what goes through my head. I remember saying to myself(in my head) while riding Lethal Weapon:
"Hey look! We're reaching that part we go upside down(which is next to where we line up)!! Where they always scream and make May scared! Let's SCREAM TOO and make THEM scared!" *scream louder than normal* Haha! I know I'm evil, but the joy of scaring others! Sweeeet~
Thoughout the ride, we kept slamming the sides of our heads on the seats and afterwards we had headaches, but it was all worth it wasn't it, May?
Day 8
Went for a trip called Dolphins Wild or was it Wild Dolphins or am I just wrong? Saw turtles and dolphins and a dugong. Not a bad day I suppose, but could have been better. If only... *sigh*
Day 9 - NEW YEAR"S EVE!
Went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Saw many animals and had a picture taken with a little python. Don't worry, of course it's harmless, but I was getting a little worried when it went crawling close to my arm! What if it bit me and strangled me to death, right? But as you can see, I'm pretty much alive now, so that didn't happen. Also got to carry a koala. *laughs sheepishly at sisters* Sorry... I didn't know dad was supposed to carry it...
Saw kangaroos and a wombat(It looked like a guinea pig only bigger with a funny looking bottom! Haha!) The bird show was great but I think I liked the Venomous Snakes show better.
Great day.
Parents brought us to a casino(no, we weren't allowed in.. 18 and above. *sob*) and it was wonderful. There was a band playing and people dancing. Everyone just joins in the fun. You see everyone stepping to the beat and there was this guy who had a great resemblence to Jim Carrey who danced really well.
Then we left for the beach! Oh wow. It was beautiful! Endless starry sky, endless beach, soft sand, sound of waves coming in, you can't imagine! But as the new year approached, the beach got more crowded. I thought it would be less crowded 'coz I expected people to be at parties and not gather around the beach! We saw fireworks from both ends of the beach. Nothing from where we were though. The fireworks were spectacular! Wow!
We smirked knowing everyone at home was 2 hours slower.
Day 10
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! We packed up our bags. It was the day we go home! HOME!!! There wasn't anything planned out for today, so it was more of rest and relax. Plane would leave at night. 11.50pm! That's close to midnight! Did more shopping and slept in the car. Then in the airport, waited for around 4 - 5 hours. Wasn't a bore coz I had the book Darell had lent to me. I Capture The Castle. I love it Darell. Thanks. I hereby state that I read really really slow so the book lasted me till well *turn red with embarassment* we were home... I just like to savour every moment. That might just be an excuse, but I don't care. I read slow and so be it. I pretty much envy people who can speed read actually.
Day 11
TOUCH DOWN! WE"RE BACK! WE"RE BACK!
*Pause*
Turns back 2 hours on watch. Everyone's still sleeping... It's 5 am. Drats.
I"M HOME!!!!!
*Opps, My bad. For that superman ESCAPE ride thing, it was 0-100km/hour in 2 seconds. Haha... Thanks Shrek. Wow. No wonder it felt so fast. It was! Silly me.
