the pleasure of my company
So one day,(2 days ago) I was going through a pile of books lying in the shelf that I haven't read and decided to pick this one up! The description on the back seemed interesting enough! :)
It's a really light and fun book. Am loving it! ;) And I'm only at page 41!
I know, I read way too slowly. Haha... Haven't had the whole day to just sit quietly and read read read. But maybe tomorrow. Or later. :)
Anyway, what I like about this book(so far) is the main character. He's a pretty quirky guy, really the cutest thing ever! ;p Well, when I think about it, if I actually met this guy, I might think he was a bit strange, but to read his thoughts! Oooohhhh they're sooooo cute! Haha... I wonder if that's what the author was aiming for.. Heh.
"Which leads me to the subject of charisma. Wouldn't we all like to know the extent of our own magnetism? I can't say my charm was at full throttle when I strolled by Elizbeth, but had she been at the other end of the street, so that I was walking eastward with the sun behind me, squintless and relaxed and perhaps in dusky silhouette, my own charisma would have swirled out of me like smoke from a hookah. And Elizabeth, the enthralling Elizabeth, would already be snarled and corralled. But my charisma has yet to fully bloom. It's as though something is keeping me back from it. Perhaps fear: What would happen to me and to those around me if my power became uncontained? If I were suddenly just too sensational to be managed? Maybe my obsessions are there to keep me from being too powerfully alluring, to keep my would-be lovers ad adventures in check. After all, I can't be too seductive if I have to spend a half hour on the big night calculating and adjusting the aggregate bulb wattage in a woman's apartment while she sits on the edge of the bed checking her watch."
Oh yes, he is OCD. ;p
Gosh, I really enjoy reading this book.
And I know usually you'd want to finish a book you like as fast as you can because you can't stop, but this time, I really don't want it to end, I don't want to spoil the little surprises. Haha! Strange, I know.
Ah well.
All good things(well, books anyway) must come to an end.
But in my case...

Not. Quite. Yet. :)
